    Why This Role is Important to Us:

    Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) is thrilled once again to host its Summer Internship Program for clinical and non-clinical departmentsThe Internship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students from across the country.

    CCA Internships are a valuable way for students to obtain real-world experience, gain exposure to a specific field, build their network for the future, and support our members and communities.

    This program is a great way for CCA to attract and develop exceptional talent as we continue to grow.
    CCA assesses and supports members with their social determinants of health (SDOH) needs. This graduate level internship is project-based to 1) develop a geo-coded resource bank and 2) a recommended process to maintain the resource bank related SDOH in an evidence-based and sustainable manner.

    Team members with CCA health plan (including health homes and delegated sites) would be able to tap into these centralized resource bank to timely SDOH intervention.


    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Review existing resources and processes, including understanding lessons learned (i.e., what works and what does not work) with the existing process
    • Research options (considering evidence-based, industry best practices, cost, national & local, etc.) related to a) information storage and b) the process to utilize SDOH resources (from assessment, to utilization, to outcomes)
    • Create a structure of topics for the resource bank
    • Identify a centralized location/ mode to house the resource bank
    • Develop a sustainable process to maintain a resource bank related to SDOH
    • Develop how success of the resource bank will be measured
    Partner with stakeholders to ensure the resources meet their needs

    Additional Information
    Remote (Massachusetts based)

    All internships will be paid standard and competitive rates for undergraduate and graduate levels ($23 and $25 per hour respectively).

    Internships are expected to be full-time through the duration of the program


    What We're Looking For:

    Required:

    • Undergraduate student currently enrolled or a recent graduate within the last 2 years
    OR

    • Graduate student currently enrolled or a recent graduate within the last 2 years
    • Understands the landscape of Social Determinants of Health

    • Proactive & efficient: Self-starter and able to produce significant output with minimally wasted effort

    • Integrity: Does not cut corners ethically. Earns and keeps trust

    • Communication: Ability to research, write and present effectively considering one's audience, instill trust and drive engagement

    • Organization & planning: Develops, tracks, prioritizes, and utilizes strategic thinking to consider risks/ possibilities

    • Follow through on commitments & attention to detail: Executes successfully and doesn't let important details slip through the cracks

    • Analytical skills: Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it

    Desired:

    • Recommended background in healthcare, community outreach or organizing, social work, public health and/or mental/behavioral health.
    • Community Health Worker (CHW) certification a plus
