    Overview:
    RN - Surgery- Methodist Full and Part Time positions Shift: Day Shifts- Full Time Weekend Package- Part Time- OR experience required On Call Shift Differential for qualifying shifts $10,000 Sign On Bonus for qualifying candidates Provide care for patients of all ages undergoing surgical procedures at a level 1 trauma center. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe surgical procedures and patient care outcomes. Surgical specialties include neurosurgery, cardiac, orthopedics, general surgery, bariatrics, ENT, gynecology, urology transplants and robotics. Extensive training provided. Why UnityPoint Health?     Responsibilities:
    Provides a safe, surgical experience for patients. This position will primarily function as a circulator, but will be required to scrub as needed.

    Functions in accordance with the Iowa Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses (Iowa Administrative Code 655, Chapter 6, & 6.2) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Practice (ANA, Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process Completes documentation to assure an accurate record of patient's care.

    Utilizes critical thinking in making independent judgments, and maintains responsibility for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients. Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital policy and legal limitations. Demonstrates professional development by keeping abreast of current nursing practice and healthcare trends.

    Utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.


    Qualifications:
    Current active or compact license as Registered Nurse for the state of Iowa (BSN preferred)
    Current RN License recognized by the State of Iowa Board of Nursing
    Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing preferred

    Minimum of 6 months of RN experience ***PLEASE NOTE: All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN roles within UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, are encouraged and required to participate in the RN Residency program.
