    Description
    Are you a skilled facility manager and looking for a new opportunity? Hospice of the Red River Valley is seeking a Full-time Facility Manager to be based out of our Fargo office location. Come join our team

    Position Summary

    Plan, organize, supervise, and control the activities of the Facility department of Hospice of the Red River Valley (HRRV). Manage necessary functions to maintain the physical structures, electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems, utilities, and grounds of HRRV's facilities. Have knowledge of and assure compliance with HRRV, accreditation, local, State, and Federal agency codes, policies, and procedural requirements and recommendations to include advisories, safety, and health requirements. Coordinate, manage, and oversee all contracted maintenance or building-related services.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the facility structures, equipment, and grounds are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, codes, manufacturer's standards of cleanliness and neatness to ensure compliance and a welcoming environment
  • Knowledgeable regarding all regulations governing facilities; implement standards, instruct staff, and take corrective action as needed
  • Perform or oversee scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs on buildings and grounds, including roofing, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and other trades within abilities; contract out work beyond abilities; obtain training in needed areas with supervisor's approval
  • Exercise judgement and timely planning needed to maintain hospice operations; track and plan for long term maintenance, updates, and/or replacement of major equipment and facility structure items
  • Coordinate and supervise all building renovations and additions and installations of office equipment and furniture
  • Schedules and assists with set up/take down and configuration the Multi-Purpose/Conference room or other facilities as need for meetings and events
  • Evaluate need for contracted work within the facilities; seeks bids per HRRV policy/direction; Coordinate, arrange, and supervise outside contractor(s) work of and maintain records of all work on file per agency policy
  • Perform/oversee snow mitigation/removal; hire and monitor contracted snow removal services as needed
  • Contracts for or hires and supervises housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, laundry staff per HRRV's staffing plan
  • Performs/oversees ordering, distribution, and inventory of Medical Supplies
  • Oversees the maintenance of and coordinates the logistics of company vehicle assignments
  • Manages receiving for delivery of goods and handles their distribution storage, and inventory
  • Assures adequate inventory of maintenance/housekeeping/office supplies
  • Completes and maintains records, logs, and reports as required
  • Ensures appropriate maintenance of all records are in compliance with local, accreditation, State, and Federal record retention policies
  • Ensure safety standards governing the facilities, including but not limited to, fire and life safety, OSHA, and State Department of Health, are met and maintained at the facilities with detailed record keeping/logs to ensure compliance
  • Serves as the Facility Emergency Manager and acts independently and decisively in emergency situations; conducts exercises and drills as needed
  • Performs monthly inspections and/or tests of equipment, fire and monitoring systems, and emergency backup systems
  • Collects & disperses emergency/incident command or other data to management teams and other departments as needed
  • Participate in budgetary process and is responsible for monitoring expenses in department; makes recommendations for cost containment within area of responsibility
  • Demonstrates ability to be an effective leader, communicating agency mission and expectations to employees and to deal effectively with personnel issues
  • Uses discretion to meet the needs of employees, hospice patients, and families
  • Participates in HRRV management training and meetings, maintains necessary CEUs to retain credentials
  • Maintains assigned staff performance reviews per HRRV policy and respond quickly and deals effectively with personnel issues per agency policy
  • Works cooperatively with all levels and observes all policies and procedures
  • Supports QAPI and Compliance programs, presents, and submits data on routine basis and as needed; builds/maintains spreadsheets and reports trends to supervisor or others as required
  • Ability to follow complex job instructions and do maintenance work without direct supervision; able to work with and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals
  • Able to observe hazards, drive vehicles, and work on elevated platforms, including roofs
  • Ensure all submissions are accurate, timely, and complete
  • Maintain educational and certification requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Three (3) years to five (5) years in commercial/institutional building maintenance or equivalent experience in mechanical trades
  • Previous leadership and management experience preferred
  • Experience in purchasing and inventory control practices
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, vendors, contractors, inspectors, visitors, patients, and families
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Required
  • Licensure/Certification in Emergency Management and/or Incident Command (National Incident Management System), or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Current drivers license and auto insurance
