    Position Description Join Serco as a Amphibious Mission System Subject Matter Expert
    You will be on a team that is evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet
    Our team is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry
    This position is contingent on your ability to obtain, maintain, and transfer your Secret clearance post employment

    Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation, which is part of Serco's Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) business, provides critical services to nearly all U.

    You will work closely with Government and industry professionals, shipbuilders, and other support personnel

    In this role:

    • You will be responsible for identifying Mission System engineering problem areas, analyzing various solutions and providing recommendations to the PMS 377 Technical Director, PMS 377 Production and Waterfront Test Director, Test HM&E Lead, and the onsite PMS 377 Test and Production divisions

    Specific tasking will include:

    • Review shipbuilder and vendor submitted Mission Systems documents (CDRLs, drawings, diagrams, calculations, etc.) and prepare draft responses
    • Monitor production installation for drawing and specifications compliance
    • Perform as Testing Lead for Deck Systems (including elevators) along with some Aviation components (cranes, safety nets, hangar door)
    • Perform as Team Leader for Deck systems during Sea Trial events
    • Support Post Delivery work as directed by client
    • Assess the progress of on-site construction work and make recommendations to the Government
    • Provide production engineering services and construction status assessments
    • Support System Testing as Program Witness, verifying proper operation of equipment/systems and conduct of the test
    • Respond to Request for Information (RFIs) from PMS 377, NAVSEA Technical Codes, and ISEA and other warfare centers, SUPSHIP, and the shipbuilder
    • Evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for consistence, accuracy and coordination of reviews with Technical Warrant Holders (TWHs)
    Review ship systems diagrams and detail design drawings for technical accuracy and compliance with the ships' specifications and requirements Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have:


    • High School diploma and 8+ years of relevant experience

    Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.


    • United States (U.S.) citizenship
    • Must be able to obtain, maintain or transfer an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment
    • Working knowledge of general marine engineering principles to ensure equipment interface within the vessel as a total system
    • Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools
    • Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility
    Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials
    Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, may be required

    Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.

    • 12+ years of Navy Shipboard Engineering experience with Auxiliary Equipment and Deck Systems
    • Relevant U.S
    Navy or U.S
    Coast Guard experience in the areas of ship construction or ship repair


    • Relevant Amphibious warship experience
