    What you will be responsible for:

    • Responding to service calls from the Service Resource Center, with a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
    • Communicating with customer representatives to identify equipment/system issues.
    • Diagnosing issues and conducting service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites.
    • Following troubleshooting procedures and referring to technical manuals, part manuals, notices, and bulletins to repair equipment.
    • Servicing, troubleshooting, and installing Fire & Life Safety systems from various manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell.
    • Understanding and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, software/systems, and operational manuals.
    • Demonstrating excellent customer service by maintaining regular communication with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
    • Completing Service Acknowledgements with proper coding using communication devices like smartphones and laptops.
    • Obtaining customer signatures upon completing service calls.
    • Participating in a scheduled On-call rotation and assisting in the training of other service team members.
    • Performing any other duties as assigned.

    Our requirements:


    Required

    • Minimum of 2 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems.
    • Experience in interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals. Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Physical capability to perform tasks like carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
    • Willingness to work in challenging positions like climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.
    • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs.
    • Potential for overnight travel.
    • Demonstrated high level of customer service.
    • Maintaining truck inventory to ensure prompt responses to customer needs.
    • Adherence to and implementation of safety guidelines and procedures.
    • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and quick learning ability.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug tests.
    • Maintaining any required licenses according to National, State, and Local codes.
    • Completion of Simplex Fire Panel Programming training within 12 months.

    Preferred

    • NICET Level I certification.
    • Understanding of Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems is a bonus.
