    Job DescriptionInterim Communications Director role to cover a medical leave hours/week with potential for more if unexpected emergency situation arises.Position Description:Responsible for planning and executing internal and external communication strategies to support organizational objectives while building and maintaining the ability to effectively communicate with constituents. Recommends organizational decisions and strategies to ensure audience understanding and engagement. Develops communication plans and writes clear and compelling messages to reach audiences via print, electronic and social media channels.Participates in the development and execution of the social media program to engage target audiences, showcase expertise and promote a positive image. Develops probative public relations strategies and serves as media spokesperson. Writes press releases and speeches, preparing staff for interviews and speaking engagements. Develops effective workflow processes to ensure high quality communications are disseminated in a timely, efficient manner, both internally and externally. Serves as the lead champion of th brand voice, guiding its implementation across all communication channels.
    Education and Experience:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or related field.
    2. Knowledge skills and abilities to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of five years of previous communications and public relations experience.
    3. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
    4. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
    5. Proven expertise in strategic communications, media relations and social media channel management.
    6. Adept at cultivating relationships, balancing competing priorities and managing input and approvals from multiple stakeholders. Strong attention to detail is required to ensure all communication are accurate, well-written and audience appropriate.
