- Under limited supervision, sets up and operates all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.
- Performs complex fabrication, welding and machining operations to support the development and fabrication of new components and modifications of existing components.
- Develops a methodical construction approach, which requires considerable originality, judgment, and technical skill.
- Support the maintenance and configuration of machine shop equipment: mills, lathes, saws, and metrology tooling.
- Performs fits and assembles where necessary, using machinists' hand tools and measuring instruments.

- At least 3 years experience as a professional machinist/fabricator.
- Ability to read, prep material and layout work according to CAD drawings.
- Professional GTAW / GMAW welding training for stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum.
- Operate with a safety first mindset.
- Positive attitude, strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to develop creative solutions to time-sensitive problems.
- Experience with facility maintenance activities.
- Expertise in Fabrication and Assembly Drawing Preparation for manufacturing (ISO and ANSI standards) including experience with version control and change record documentation.
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certification D1.1, D1.2, or D17.1.
- Experience with CAM software, G-Code & M-Code Programming, and post-processors.
- Experience with conversational programing: Proto-Trak, HAAS Visual Part Programming System.
- Experience with various manufacturing techniques - machining, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.
- Experience in Opto-Mechanical Assembly, including receiving and inspecting components, dry-assembly, bonding.
- Forklift operation is a plus.
