    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    • Oversee the day to day operational and logistical activities including but not limited to inventory management, inland distribution to customers via truck and rail (OTIF) and warehouse management
    • Collaborate daily with customer service team, commercial team, planning team and international logistics team to ensure smooth flow of operations

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Formulate procedures for end of month inventory reconciliation, physical inventory counts and inventory management
    • Handle claims for issues encountered in the daily operations and perform root-cause analysis to develop and implement corrective action plans
    • Study the current supply chain processes and suggest improvements and applications to supervisor to optimize it
    • Interact daily with customer service team, commercial team and planning team to track and oversee inland OTIF metric (on time, in full) deliveries to customers
    • Collect and organize information from computer database, SAP and warehouse partners to ensure smooth running of daily operational activities like on time delivery to customers, optimization of logistical routes and cost reduction on inland lanes
    • Monitor the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between client and the warehouses to ensure smooth running of daily operations and work with warehouse and internal teams to resolve issues
    • Oversee warehouse operations and ensure that warehouses are following standard operating procedures for inventory management and suggest improvements in the current processes
    • Train warehouses and internal teams on standard operating procedures for inventory management
    • Support new warehouse set-up and operational alignments
    • Work with the international team to resolve problems pertaining to international logistics
    • Supervise arrivals of imports at US ports and work with customs broker in case of any issues
    • Study market indicators, domestic customer volume distribution and allocation and budgeting to analyze logistical set-up and work with suppliers to achieve the most optimal rates
    • Develop and implement methods to calculate storage costs and inventory turnover at warehouses and propose action plans to improve the management of inventory storage to reduce costs and improve turnover
    • Formulate methods to analyze and track aged stock, damaged stock and the use of First In, First Out for inventory at warehouses
    • Analyze historical data of OTIF metric to identify low performing inland carriers for customer deliveries and suggest action plans to mitigate delays
    • Perform analysis of monthly results of inland logistics distribution to identify opportunities for improvement, to justify deviations from budget and to detect errors in reporting
    • Implement key performance indicator tracking for warehouse performance and inland carrier performance to identify opportunities of cost savings and increasing efficiencies
    • Collaborate with IT team, planning team, customer service team and commercial team involved in the automation project for inventory management to ensure that all requirements for automation are met and are within the budget and scope of the project. Also analyze and present data inputs and procedures for the project.
