    DevOps Engineer

    Our Technology Services client is looking to hire a DevOps Engineer for a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This position may be remote, but applicants should be able to work onsite in Quincy, MA, should the need arise.

    Applicants must be local to New England and able to work onsite when needed to be eligible for this position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Triage and debug build and deployment issues
    • Communicate with Application Development and Infrastructure teams to coordinate releases
    • Collaborate with Application and System Engineers to create and enforce standards for application delivery and maintenance
    • Assess release processes and implement improvements to expand capabilities and increase reliability where possible
    • Maintain ongoing awareness of industry developments to ensure release engineering practices remain as efficient and effective as possible
    • Lead and oversee production implementations

    Qualifications:

    • Must have at least 5 years of release engineering or equivalent DevOps experience
    • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
    • Strong scripting and/or coding skills
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and correct inefficiencies with release processes
    • Experience with ANT, Maven, Subversion, GIT, PVCS
    • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, and IBM WebSphere
    • Knowledge of VBScript, Perl, Python, and/or related programming languages
    • Knowledge/experience with continuous integration tools such as UDeploy, Jenkins, Chef, puppet, etc.
    • Familiarity with tools such as Octopus/Shippable and products in the Atlassian suite such as Bitbucket/Bamboo preferred
    • Must have excellent communication skills
