    Requisition Summary



    The Quality Technician reports to the Section Manager. The main purpose of this job is to:

    • Perform in-house inspection requests as required from Machining or Assembly on the CMM's
    • Work on measurement projects in support of new Engine programs
    • Use any/ all equipment in the lab as required (height gage, optical comparator, thread gages, radius gauges, calipers, micrometers, indicators, hardness, etc...)
    • Perform capability studies
    • Assist machining teams in SPC hardware / software issues
    • Provides leadership and training for operators in proper use of gauges
    • Chosen candidate must be willing to work multiple shifts as needed.

    The individual in this role will be required to work for twelve hours on weekends during night shifts, precisely on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

    Job Functions / Responsibilities

    • Ensure effective product acceptance through appropriate inspection requirements.
    • Work with Quality Engineering and other functional groups, to analyze suspect components.
    • Work directly with Quality Engineering and other functional groups, to analyze suspect components.
    • Up to twenty percent of time will be spent supporting operational issues on the shop floor in machining.
    • Assist in the collection of suspect material and ensuring documentation is filled out correctly.
    • Evaluates data and completes reports.
    • Maintains records and metrics.
    • Updates primary data base systems such as QDA, SAP, and MES.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • High School diploma or GED

    Job Experience:

    • CMM or machining within high pace manufacturing process - Required
    • 6sigma experience preferred.

    Skills/Competencies:

    • Functional knowledge of Metrology devices (Optical comparator, calipers, micrometers,...)
    • Functional knowledge in spreadsheets, databases and word processing software programs
    • Functional knowledge of GD&T and blue print reading
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

    Physical Requirements:

    • Some travel is required.
    • Work in an office environment with varying amounts of walking, sitting, standing, twisting, and turning.
    • Periodically lift or carry up to 25 lb.
    • No unusual or excessive physical demands.
