The Surgical Hygienist position is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone seeking to expand their skill set and practice dental hygiene at an elevated capacity. This position is more like a paid fellowship, allowing growth in several areas including diagnosing periodontitis and implant patients, scrubbing in to work alongside the doctor in laser surgery cases, administering anesthesia, triaging emergency patients, treatment planning, and acting as a clinical liaison between the doctor and patients, as well as building trusted relationships with our partners in restorative practices. For the right candidate, the skills required for this position will be trained and cultivated, over time, by the periodontist. You will learn to use lasers, how to use 3D planning software to diagnose disease and plan implants, and many more skills that you are totally prepared for as an RDH. You will play a much bigger part in the care of patients than standard hygiene practice.
We are looking for a Team Player with a Positive Attitude and a Caring Spirit who embraces collaboration and has a passion for learning. We use technology to the fullest and team members need to be computer literate and have the ability to navigate computer programs for documentation, charting, and scheduling purposes. Training provided on all computer systems and in the use of 3D-virtual surgery treatment planning software and in taking high-quality, intra-oral photographs.
