    The salary range for this position is $202,347 - $264,924.

    As we grow, we are building manufacturing facilities and quantum datacenters around the globe. We are looking for a Senior Staff Network Engineer to help grow our networking capabilities to enable cutting-edge research, distributed engineering, and delivery of the world's best quantum computers to our customers to help them solve the world's most complex problems.

    Responsibilities:

  • Drive network reliability, availability, and expansions globally (US, Canada, Switzerland)
  • Oversee and preserve all aspects of our international network including connectivity management, element management and integration, network performance, tools, and NOC processes and procedures
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation level for critical incidents and events affecting the operational network.
  • Install, tune, and upgrade networking equipment at the foundation of our quantum computers (we run our systems locally, and make them available to customers via the cloud)
  • Optimize Linux networking subsystem for maximum throughput (we run many components at close to full physical link capacity)
  • Manage network redundancy with our upstream providers
  • Work with external vendors to regular audit and test our networks

    You'd be a good fit with:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of global network engineering experience
  • 5+ years in network architecture, combined with a love of being hands on
  • Deep understanding of IP networks, including BGP, VLANs, firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and wireless technologies
  • Experience tuning 10GbE networks
  • Strongly capable in an imperative or functional language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, G)
  • Able and excited to mentor engineers

    You'd be a great fit with:

  • 15+ years of global network engineering experience
  • 7+ years in network architecture
  • Mastery of modern, FIPS-compliant networking appliances (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc)
  • Hybrid cloud-prem networking experience
  • Network and security certifications
  • A love of CI/CD
  • Substantial experience with one or more of the major clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
