    Position Summary

    Responsible for managing Central Sterile Processing (CSP)/HLD support services workflow and operations for assigned area

    Essential Functions
    • Directly oversees staff responsible for ensuring their work output is satisfactory and their concerns are resolved. Is responsible for all hiring and related personnel decisions, completing routine performance review evaluations, training, scheduling, team development and the like.
    • Provides workflow oversight of all staff on assigned shifts. This includes overseeing work-flow to assure successful outcomes to customers, coordinating orientation/training and assisting with the development and scheduling of staff, and routinely inspecting staff's work to assure quality.
    • Stays current and serves as resource for all regulatory compliance entities.
    • Responsible for assuring thorough and consistent resource management, verification of production data/indicators, daily inspections and accurate record keeping on QA and CQI projects.
    • Monitors daily workloads, surgical schedule, and production requirements.
    • Maintains an individual anecdotal log for all CPT errors and successes for use in education and performance evaluations.
    • Assesses and provides ongoing education to staff as appropriate
    • Tracks and produces data for the CSP/HLD Quality measures.
    • Collects, verifies and maintains permanent data/archives of all QA tests, records and documents.
    • Develops and implements performance improvement and/or quality improvement initiatives.
    • Develops strong relationships with other leaders with in organization and share best practices.
    • Manages high-dollar OR asset inventory. Coordinates with Purchasing for efficient ordering of supplies for CSP/HLD.
    • Writes and implements procedures to support CSP operations in the ORs, Enforces hospital and departmental policy.
    • Represents CSP on VAC (Value Analysis Committee) and provides material information.
    • Responsible for planning of specific annual goals and objectives for CSP.
    • Participates in budget preparations and cost savings/reduction initiatives.
    • Performs other job duties as required.

    Qualifications:
    Education
    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, must have 8+ years' experience in related field, including their previous Supervisory experience.
    Work Experience
    • 5+ years in a related field Required and
    • Previous leadership/supervisory experience Required
    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. Required
    • Notable client service, communication and relationship building skills. Required
    • Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Required
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Required
    • Knowledge of Oracle. Preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). Required
    Additional Licenses and Certifications

    Must possess at least one (1) of the following certifications through IAHCSMM or CBSPD :
    • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech ( CSPDT )
    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician ( CRCST )
    • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor ( CER )
    • Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor ( CFER)
