    Job Title: Part-Time Educational Support Specialist

    Location: Innovative Arts Academy

    Hourly Rate: $15.08

    Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:50 AM to 2:30 PM

    Role Description:

    The Innovative Arts Academy is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Paraprofessional/Hall Monitor. This position combines responsibilities as an instructional assistant within the classroom and hall monitor for maintaining safety and security in school hallways and common areas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support classroom teachers with instructional activities, including preparing materials, supervising students, and providing one-on-one assistance as needed.
    • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions for students with diverse learning needs.
    • Supervise students during non-instructional periods, such as recess, lunchtime, and transition times between classes.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly environment by monitoring hallways, entrances, and other common areas.
    • Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student behavior, attendance, and safety.
    • Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, following established protocols and ensuring proper documentation.
    • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians to support the overall well-being of the school community.

    Qualifications:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
    • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
    • Basic knowledge of child development, educational principles, and behavior management strategies.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
    • Willingness to undergo a background check and any additional screenings required for employment in a school setting.
