    Job Title: Flight Nurse at Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team

    About the Company: Join our dynamic Pediatric Critical Care transport team that utilizes rotor wing, fixed wing, and ground transports. We specialize in transporting advanced respiratory, neurological, metabolic, cardiac, and trauma patients.
    Job Description:

    The Flight Nurse demonstrates advanced critical thinking capabilities working autonomously and in collaboration with health care providers in delivering care to critically ill patients in diverse settings.

    Unit Information:

    We are seeking experienced pediatric nurses with strong critical thinking skills for the challenging environment of critical care in a transport setting.

    Scope:

    Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care suitable for neonatal, pediatric, and adult age groups.

    Work Conditions include:
    • Performance of essential job responsibilities in moving aircraft or ground ambulance
    • Exposure to noise, vibration, and dehydrating environments
    • Unpressurized helicopter flight at altitudes up to 10,000 feet
    • Exposure to patients with infectious diseases

    Life Flight RNs must hold an advanced certification (CCRN, CFRN, CNPT, CEN, or CTRN) or obtain one within 2 years of hire.

    Job Essentials:
    • Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status
    • Plan: Develops individualized plans of care collaboratively
    • Implement: Coordinates patient care delivery effectively
    • Evaluate: Reviews patient response and revises care plans
    • Professionalism: Promotes nursing profession and adheres to legal and ethical standards

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BSN required within three years of hire or promotion
    • RN License in state of practice
    • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
    • Three years of Critical Care/Emergency Department or Labor and Delivery experience
    • Current experience in the relevant area of practice
    • Must be able to reach the fixed wing base location within 30 minutes of dispatch
    • Rotor Wing RNs must meet specified weight requirements

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
    • Advanced certification (CCRN, CFRN, CNPT, CEN, or CTRN)
    Physical Requirements:
    • Continuous need for visual and verbal communication, manual dexterity, lifting, walking, and standing
    • Expected to handle complex equipment and delicate tasks

    Location: at Primary Childrens Hospital, St George Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah

    Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36

    The hourly range for this position varies depending on experience.
