    El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is the only food bank serving the greater El Paso region, three Counties (El Paso, Hudspeth, Culberson) and covering nearly 10,000 square miles along the borderland. We accomplish our mission of feeding neighbors experiencing food insecurity and hunger through strategic food distribution partnerships with over 100 pantry partners, and approximately 1,000 client choice mobile pantry distributions. El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is the second youngest food bank in the country and the sixth largest in terms of food distribution; the food bank itself, is the largest distribution of food in this region for those experiencing hunger.     Position Summary

    With guidance and support from the Workforce Development Program Manager and Operations Management, this position is responsible for delivering all aspects of the Job Skills Training Program- Spark. The trainer role will form part of a project team that will be responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and sustaining El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Banks' Workforce Development Programs. These programs are designed to elevate and empower our neighbors to address the root causes of food insecurity. We are looking for a dynamic and engaging team player, with excellent training, facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills, as well as a commitment to delivering a high-quality service in line with our mission and core values.

    Position Requirements

    Essential Job Functions

    Include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Lead the facilitation of Workforce Development Training Programs and certifications to EPFHFB neighbors
    • Lead all Train-the-trainer initiatives, serve as the Subject Matter Expert for training programs
    • Responsible for facilitating the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council MSSC Certified Logistics Associate and Certified Logistics Technician Certifications
    • Lead administrator for the MSSC training portal
    • Develop and evaluate training plan and curriculum
    • Conduct skill needs assessments to identify specific skill/knowledge gaps, training objectives, work situations and changes in training policies and procedures
    • Lead facilitator, train and onboard new trainees and ensure trainees understand all warehouse & food bank operations and safety regulations
    • Ensure training is designed, delivered and evaluated for consistency
    • Observe employees to determine the effectiveness of training programs and ensure that any additional training requirements are fulfilled
    • Exhibit and practice positive communications and team building skills with trainees to ensure a consistently professional environment
    • Inspire, engage and coach trainees to ensure participant retention and program graduation
    • Effectively manage classes and ensure cohort trainees meet learning objectives, engage in daily training activities, and meet program deliverables
    • Prepare and deliver daily training material and monitor and evaluate progress of trainees
    • Understand all Warehouse and Mercado operations and provide on the job training support
    • Participate in program outreach, recruitment, screening and interview process
    • Support and mentor trainees during training process and prepare them for employment
    • Track, evaluate, and report program data and outcomes
    • Partner with WFD Program Manager to ensure program goals and deliverables are met
    • Perform other duties as requested or assigned
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply-Chain Management, Business Administration/Management or a Training related field
    • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution center, operations type environment
    • Experience with continuous improvement activities related to warehouse optimization
    • Minimum of two years of training/facilitation experience
    • Knowledge of adult learning and alternative educational methods. Must have the ability to apply these methods for adult, at-risk teens and multi-cultural students
    • Ability to teach students of diverse abilities and backgrounds and overcome barriers to success in a multi-level class
    • Ability to build a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Ability to relate well to different groups of students of different ages and ability levels
    • Strong computer and analytical skills
    • Ability to use a variety of audio-visual equipment
    • Must have good classroom management skills
    • Must have strong desire to work with people from a broad range of backgrounds
    • Team-player who can collaborate with colleagues
    • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Enthusiasm for the subject material that will foster a love of learning by students
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug testing
    • Must have driver's license and clean MVR
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    • Ability to work evenings & Saturdays as needed
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Advanced knowledge of local workforce development, continuing education landscape
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize resources strategically
    • Current forklift certification, or ability to acquire upon employment. At least two years of applicable training experience
    • Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager license, or ability to acquire upon employment
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community
    • Ability to build and steward partnerships across sectors
    Working Conditions & Physical Demands

    This position operates in a typical warehouse environment and requires constant use of a computer and other office equipment, such as phones, calculators, computer printers and copy machines. The person in this position needs to move about safely in the warehouse and will move from warehouse to office environments frequently throughout the day.

    The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external stakeholders (food bank leadership and staff, employment & community partners, students, etc.). Must be able to gather and exchange accurate information in these situations. This position requires local travel for meetings (reliable transportation is needed), or professional development opportunities. Infrequent national and/or overnight travel may be required for optional professional development opportunities. Occasional night or weekends may be required.

    Position Type & Hours of Work

    This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires occasional evening and weekends.
