- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

- Knowledge of the abbreviated test language for all systems and programming principles sufficient to analyze aircraft and test multi-systems, pneumatic equipment, and computerized test station software and software problems sufficient to make recommendations to software engineers to correct problems resulting from software and hardware deficiencies and advise engineers on the effect of proposed changes or modifications to software or subsystems that effect the entire aircraft multi-system or digital analog video (DAV) multi-system test station.
- Knowledge of electronics, software controlled test multi-system DAV automated test station, interface test adapters (IT A), display unit test set (DUTS), DAV associated equipment (electrical load bank, video pattern generator, memory loader/verifier, video monitors, and pneumatic test sets) test stations and their peripherals) test results, a variety of test equipment, self-test programs and technical data containing schematic diagrams, signal and data diagrams, test procedures, program information, and mathematical formulas to analyze performance, inspect, test, troubleshoot, identify and isolate malfunctions, repair, disassemble, assemble, rebuild, overhaul, modify, calibrate. Knowledge of the interaction of aircraft avionic multi-systems that are interfaced with the test multi-system DAV automated test station, ITA, DUTS, DAV associated equipment (electrical load bank, video pattern generator, memory loader/verifier, video monitors, heads-up display, and pneumatic test sets) test station in the work center (electronic flight controls, environmental and fire detection control, radar and radio navigation, warning and caution, mission computer/electronic displays, and integrated radio management)
- Skill in analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing malfunctions in the test multi-system DAV automated test station, ITA, DUTS, DAV associated equipment (electrical load bank, video pattern generator, memory loader/verifier, video monitors, heads-up display, and pneumatic test sets) test software, and aircraft avionic multi-systems to include electronic flight controls, environmental and fire detection control, radar and radio navigation, warning and caution, mission computer/electronic displays, and integrated radio management.
- Ability to adapt and extend applicable technical guidance, directives, schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, programming tables, computer program flow charts, software user guides, computer program listings, and factory drawings for the subsystems, test station, and software to formulate overall multisystem operation needed to analyze performance, test, inspect, troubleshoot, identify and isolate malfunctions, disassemble, modify, repair, rebuild, overhaul, calibrate, and align all components of the test multi-system DAV automated test station, ITA, DUTS, DAV associated equipment (electrical load bank, video pattern generator, memory loader/verifier, video monitors, heads-up display, and pneumatic test sets), specialized avionics test sets (APN240, APN169, 1553B controlled APX100, 1553B controlled ARC164, ARINC429 controller tactical air navigation), aircraft avionic multi-systems to include electronic flight controls, environmental and fire detection control, radar and radio navigation, warning and caution, mission computer/electronic displays, and integrated radio management composed of line replaceable units (LRU) to include mission computers, heads-up display, instrument, flight controls, malfunction display, sensors signal interface, air data, communications, interphone.
- Ability to use common and peculiar hand tools, logic analyzers, independent and computer controlled 1553 data bus simulator/analyzers, independent and computer controlled ARINC-429 data bus simulator/analyzers, RF signal generators, IF signal generators, audio signal generators, voltage measurement devices used to measure continuous wave RF, pulsed RF, amplitude modulated RF, frequency modulated RF, audio, DC, pulsed DC, and AC signals to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain the test multi-system DAV automated test station, ITA, DUTS, DAV associated equipment electrical load bank, video pattern generator, memory loader/verifier, video monitors, heads-up display, and pneumatic test sets most test equipment, aircraft avionic multisystem to include electronic flight controls, environmental and fire detection control, radar and radio navigation, warning and caution, mission computer/electronic displays, and integrated radio management composed of LRUs to include mission computers, heads-up display, instrument, flight controls, malfunction display, sensors signal interface, air data, communications.
- Ability to interpret and comply with regulations and instructions on security, safety, documentation, and other publications governing the performance of duties. Ability to effectively communicate with workers and supervisors in English using both oral and written reports. Basic computer skills are required. Individual must be able to access and use computer-based maintenance documentation and supply systems and be capable of assimilating training on new systems as they are developed and implemented. Knowledge of USAF Technical Order Program and its procedures. Ability to clean work area and/or job site upon completion of work.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Avionics Technician to operate, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, align, modify, rebuild, overhaul, reassemble, calibrate, and certify the components of the avionic multisystems on assigned aircraft to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

- Tests, maintains, calibrates, and repairs advanced avionics systems using a multi-system test configuration or specialized avionics test stations.
- DIGITAL ANALOG VIDEO (DAV)/TEST MEASUREMENT AND DIAGNOSTICEQUIPMENT/SYSTEM PECULAR MAINTENANCE: Tests, maintains, calibrates, and repairs advanced multi-system test stations and specialized avionics test stations.
- Effectively communicates information to the proper channels. IAW applicable directives, prepares all necessary forms and records associated with scheduling and repair of units and prepares deficiency reports on defective systems, components, or inaccurate technical data. Maintains historical data of repaired components and test stations.
- Utilizes safety practices and procedures, complies with security regulations, directives, and policies, and maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Uses and maintains tools and test equipment required to accomplish duties: Ensures tools are properly marked, calibrated (if necessary), and are secured when area is unattended. Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is ability to the work of a Electronic Integrated System Mechanic without more than normal supervision.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort involves lifting components and equipment and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Items lifted generally weigh up to 40 pounds and occasionally objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Requires a high degree of manual dexterity, eye to hand coordination, prolonged standing, walking, and normal color vision.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside in a shop environment and outside on the aircraft, subject to inclement weather. Mechanics are subject to injuries such as cuts and bruises and may be subject to danger from exposure to hazardous materials, high pressure air, high noise level, electrical shock, RF radiation, and bums from soldering irons.
