    Description

    Perform MRI scans, confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, position patients for scans, and maintain accurate records. Must have 1 year of experience, BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification, and state-specific licensing.

    • Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients.
    • Screen patients for MRI safety and prepare them for scans.
    • Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment.
    • Assist radiologist with procedure performance and administer contrast media as directed.
    • Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and maintain accurate patient records.
    • Load and operate power injectors and follow safety procedures when working with radiation.

    MRI Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. ARRT, BLS, and state-specific licensing are required. Additional certifications may be necessary before beginning an assignment.
