    Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology


    Join our distinguished team at VHS as a dedicated Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology specialist, playing a vital role in providing exemplary cancer care in a state-of-the-art accredited Cancer Center.

    This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work within a comprehensive, multidisciplinary environment, supporting innovative clinical trials and patient-centered treatment plans.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Provide expert medical care to oncology and hematology patients in a COC-accredited facility.
    Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up visits, allocating 1 hour per new patient and 20 minutes for follow-ups.

    Engage in shared weekday call responsibilities, addressing patient inquiries from RNs related to chemo treatments, urgent questions, and minimal ED consults.

    Participate in weekly tumor boards and collaborate on clinical trial options, including phases 2 and 3.
    Support a multidisciplinary team, including Medical Assistants, RNs, and dedicated pharmacists.
    Utilize MOSAIQ EMR for documentation and patient management.
    Contribute to a dynamic environment housed alongside radiation oncology services and chemo suite facilities.


    Required Skills:
    Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Hematology, or Oncology.
    Proven expertise in cancer patient management and treatment protocols.
    Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
    Proficiency with MOSAIQ EMR preferred.


    Nice to Have Skills:
    Experience in clinical trials management.
    Prior exposure to multidisciplinary oncology care settings.
    Additional certifications in oncology nursing or related fields.
    Flexibility to handle weekend call and after-hours consultations.


    Preferred Education and Experience:
    MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
    Current medical license in the applicable state.
    At least 2 years of post-residency experience in hematology and oncology care.


    Other Requirements:
    Availability to start on 01/30/2026.
    Willingness to participate in sharing weekday call duties.
    Commitment to maintaining certification and licensure requirements.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with a focus on patient outcomes.
    Travel or certification reimbursements as applicable.


    This role offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $1.00, supported by comprehensive benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, medical benefits, paid sick leave, licensure and travel reimbursements, and a robust referral program.
