    A reasonable range for this position is:

    Credit-bearing courses: $1,250 to $5,000 per section

    Non-credit: 10-30% of enrollment fee per enrollment

    Anticipated start:
    Fall: August 2024

    Spring: January 2025

    Summer: May 2025

    Position duration:
    Fall: August December 2024

    Spring: January May 2025

    Summer: May August 2025

    Position description



    UC Merced Extension is seeking experienced and qualified candidates to provide instruction in closely related fields of Careers in Education or Education Career Pathways. Courses may be offered in academic credit and non-credit options.

    Examples of Closely Related Fields:

    Becoming a credentialed teacher

    Philosophy of education

    Introduction to Teaching

    Strategies for Pedagogical Success

    We are also open to accepting proposals for new courses in the field.

    In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating/updating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (2 hours/week), and grading examinations and/or papers.

    Academic Year: 8/1/ /31/2025

    Fall Term: 8/1/ /31/2024

    Spring Term: 1/1/ /31/2025

    Summer Term: 6/1/ /31/2025

    UC Merced Extension anticipates hiring multiple part-time instructors for the courses listed above throughout the academic year based on the course sections scheduled and/or planned.



    Qualifications



    Basic qualifications

    As a UNEX Instructor in Education Pathways, you will bring:

    • a master's degree in related field as designated topic area
    • minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the closely related field or publish - research in the closely related field
    • demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in the designated topic area


    Preferred qualifications
    • experience teaching or providing professional development in the closely related field
    • a CA clear teaching credential and/or CA clear administrator credential
