    The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery seeks a Lead Veterinary Technician and animal lover to join our growing team at our practice on the upper west side of Manhattan.

    As a senior member of the surgical team, in addition to traditional Vet Tech duties, you will be actively involved in:

    Leading a clinical team and maintaining flow
    Training new clinical team members
    Working with doctors and leadership to continue improving hospital flow and productivity
    Client education
    Performing pre-surgical diagnostics
    Post operative patient care
    Rounding with the doctor on cases using learned knowledge
    Leading appointments


    Requirements:
    Licensure in New York State
    Strong record-keeping skills
    Good understanding of drug modality and usage
    Comfort with young and geriatric patients
    Comfortable training technicians and directing them properly while giving helpful feedback
    Ability to effectively run CPR and a knowledge of life-saving drugs
    Highly evolved organizational skills
    Experience leading a clinical team and maintaining flow
    Experience with training new clinical team members

    What Would Be Ideal:

    4+ years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician
    Anesthesia skills
    Surgery experience
    A desire to pursue VTS
