- Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate

- Perform quality control functions related to mammography
- Assist in the compilation and maintenance of statistical data
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines
- Communicate with internal scheduling, the ultrasound department, primary care physicians, and the radiologist.
- Delegate reports, obtain medical releases, upload images
- Maintain and track biopsy reports
- Maintain records for MQSA
- Send correspondence letters to patients
- Call patients back for additional views
- Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique
- Serves as the primary liaison between patients Radiologists and other members of the support team

- Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
- MQSA/FDA- 15 CEUs every 3 years, 200 documented case numbers every 2 years
- Valid state radiology registration as required by state law
- Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Current CPR
- Frequently move/lift around 40 pounds, depending on assignment requirements
- Stand for long periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling, and reaching to prepare equipment, materials
- Ability to talk to others and convey information effectively

Description
St. James Hospital is recruiting for a Mammography Tech. This opportunity has flexibility for full-time or part-time hours.Under direct supervision, the Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help diagnose and treat breast disease in patients. A Mammography Technologist may perform screening exams or diagnostic exams.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Mammography Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adhere to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the Radiology Manager or the Radiologist. Specific duties may include but are not limited to:

In addition to, frequent exposures to distressed patients, families, or visitors.
