    About the Role

    The Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Prevention Specialist in Linn and Benton County. This exciting opportunity involves working with communities, schools, workplaces, and organizations to prevent substance abuse and gambling issues.

    We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related human services field, who has experience working in substance abuse services or a similar area. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and public speaking skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with various groups and stakeholders.

    As a Prevention Specialist, you will be responsible for:

    • Developing and implementing prevention strategies to address substance abuse and gambling issues in the community.
    • Collaborating with various groups and stakeholders to create strategic alliances and achieve shared goals.
    • Collecting and analyzing data related to substance use in the community to inform prevention services.
    • Providing information on substances to the community through public speaking, written materials, and other media channels.
    • Evaluating prevention programs and utilizing outcomes to improve services.

    About the Salary and Benefits

    The salary for this position starts at $22.71 per hour, with additional compensation provided for candidates with extensive experience.
