- Develop monitoring system(s) to enable continual assessment on specific equipment to ensure operating at expected performance.
- Create an auditable maintenance program to achieve reliable operations while meeting target service life.
- Manage technical content between James Hardie and equipment vendors on design, fabrication, installation, and issues resolution.
- Manage ideation, feasibility assessment and technical risk assessment for process equipment innovation opportunities.
- Communicate with plant personnel to promote new equipment implementation, discuss concepts of new technologies, safety requirements, and process requirements.
- Provide technical support and expertise during design, fabrication, and installation.
- Lead execution of new design qualification testing program; including, coordinating detailed trial plans, with plant personnel, to verify manufacturing readiness.
- Provide operating guidelines and procedures, technical training, and oversight during start-ups to observe, troubleshoot, and document any process or scale-up issues.
- Using a goal-oriented leadership style to lead teams to project success focusing on the key areas of Company strength and weakness and addressing both to accomplish projects personally or overseeing the work required to deliver the project results.
- Position requires up to 50% travel.

- Many projects stem from highly confidential development work, which requires discretion and the ability to communicate projects in a generic, yet comprehensive manner.
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering Technology
- 8+ years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment within process engineering, equipment design, manufacturing, or technical services.
- Knowledge and understanding of key packaging process equipment design and operations, and ISTA package testing techniques (preferred).
- Knowledge of Fiber Gypsum or paper making process (plus).
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment, machine design standards and specifications, and machine safety design, including ANSI, and ASTM.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and machine standards.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in continuous manufacturing environment with experience; including Design of Experiment (DoE), to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical equipment performance.
- A verifiable record of developing and implementing practical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate activities to lead cross-functional groups and external partners.
- Demonstrated use of effective and inclusive Project Management skills
- Demonstrated skills with personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software(Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).
- Familiarity with best-practices principles such as Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

What You'll Do:
As a memberof the Engineering Technology Group, and part of the Global Engineering & Construction Group, this Process Engineerwill provide the execution of process and product engineering projects from conceptualization through detail design engineering, while also providing technical support on installation, commissioning, and initial operations for new and existing technologies as business needs necessitate. The candidate must also possess solid engineering fundamentals to establish engineering standards, standard work procedures, performance monitoring systems, continuous improvement, and technical service support to the business. In addition to standard professional knowledge, the candidate will be expected to learn and understand various manufacturing processes within the business and utilizes this knowledge to interact with R&D, Engineering Design, Construction, Manufacturing, and various other groups to implement new solutions and processes.
Position Responsibilities
You will leada wide range of projects driving innovative solution that will include new product launches, platform improvements, and manufacturing process upgrades by applying standard practices for equipment design, equipment fabrication, installation, and operations with focus on driving performance and reliability.
You will incorporateProject Management skills to fulfill duties such as project scope writing, resource management, timelines, and reporting progress to management, as well as delivering executed projects. You will also provide technical support and expertise during design, install, start-up, and preliminary production runs of new processes, as well as, incorporating best practices into Global Engineering Standards and practices.

Salary + Bonus: The expected pay range for this position is between $96,800 and $123,100. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for benefits which may also include a discretionary bonus.
