    Per Diem Dispensing Nurse LPN/LVN
    At Health Care Resource Center, we are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our treatment team. The successful candidate will work in partnership with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors to dispense prescribed medications as part of the patient care plan.

    The dispensing nurse is responsible for maintaining dispensing equipment, managing medication inventory, and reporting patient treatment information. This role requires collaboration with supervisory counseling staff and demonstrating a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward individuals with Substance Use Disorder.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administer daily medication to patients according to program policy and medical protocols.
    • Maintain and calibrate automated dispensing system(s) and ensure proper functioning of dispensing equipment.
    • Produce and maintain accurate records and reports as required by Company protocol, Federal and State Regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances as set forth in the Code of Federal regulations.
    • Order, receive, and stock medication in accordance with DEA and State regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
    • Conduct daily assessments of patients and provide relevant feedback to the treatment team.
    • Assist the Nursing Supervisor in orienting new nursing staff and ensuring a smooth transition.

    Qualifications:

    • Holding a current and valid LPN/LVN license in the State of Maine.
    • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
    • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and computer systems is desired.
    • Experience in chemical dependency is preferred, along with self-motivation, direction, and a positive attitude toward individuals in substance abuse treatment.
    • A satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check are required.
