    Job Summary:

    The Registered Nurse (RN) II is a professional caregiver who takes on responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a set time frame. The RN II provides patient care through the use of the nursing process, self, environment, instrumentation, and other health care team members.


    Essential Responsibilities:
    • Performs systematic assessment/data collection, focusing on various patient aspects such as physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status.
    • Formulates a goal-oriented care plan when appropriate.
    • Implements care consistently and skillfully.
    • Establishes care priorities based on essential patient needs and available resources.
    • Identifies patient/family learning needs and addresses them.
    • Shows sensitivity to patient/family rights, cultural differences, and ethical beliefs.
    • Provides/coordinates care for patients/patient populations.
    • Builds effective relationships with the health care team, patients, and families.
    • Delegates tasks appropriately and coordinates health care team duties.
    • Evaluates the care provided by team members.
    • Uses effective communication methods and skills.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of safety principles.
    • Acts efficiently in emergency situations, following protocols and documenting events.
    • Takes responsibility for professional practice.
    • Participates in staff development activities.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues related to patient care.
    • Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
    • Participates in nursing research.
    • Identifies and solves problems effectively.
    • Provides staffing data and shows flexibility in resolving staffing issues.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in computer use for documentation and conveying information.
    • Performs other related duties as needed.
    Basic Qualifications: Experience
    • Two years recent experience in surgical procedures in an acute care hospital operating room.
    Education
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with required clinical hours.
    • Current RN License

    • Demonstrated knowledge of RN scope of practice

    • Good interpersonal skills
