Little Scholars Learning Center is looking for a committed teacher to work with children in our afterschool program. The candidate will be responsible for implementing activity plans that are designed to stimulate the interest of children in grades Pre K-5. The ideal candidate should be passionate about working with young children and able to create a relationship of mutual trust. The candidate should possess good organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Present lessons in an exciting and meaningful manner
• Provide homework assistance to children
• Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
• Plan and implement educational in-class and outdoor physical activities
• Observe and understand students' behavior and report suspicions of abuse or neglect
• Develop and enrich professional skills through training opportunities

Requirements

• Proven experience as a teacher
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-organized and committed
• Creative and energetic
• Strong moral values
• CPR Certified or Willingness to Obtain
• CDA or willingness to enroll in a CDA program
• Must pass State Criminal Background Check
