    The Director of Global Supply Chain and Product Engineering reports to the President and seeks to understand all aspects of the business they and their team support.

    The Director of Global Supply Chain and Product Engineering manages two main functions, which are joined due to the critical mass of product and vendor knowledge.


    The Supply Chain function is tasked with actively managing Quality, Delivery, Cost (total landed and out the door costs), and Inventory performance of the supply chain to the benefit of company and company's customers.

    The Product Engineering function owns the tactical side of product lifecycle management.

    This includes but is not limited to delivering NPD projects on specification and on time, managing the item master / bill of materials, and managing the technical aspects of sustaining engineering projects including cost savings and vendor diversification projects.

    The Director of Global Supply Chain and Product Engineering will interface with every aspect of the business, including Product Engineering, Vendors, Operations, Sales and Finance to work together to achieve combined goals – increasing sales and profitability while reducing risk to achieve our long-term financial goals.

    Functions/Responsibilities

    Exhibit executive level decision-making, cross-functional teamwork, problem solving, and policy development acumen. Adhere to company mission, values, standards, policies and procedures. Proactively ensure personal awareness of policies before acting.

    Lead a sourcing and product engineering team in the U.S. as well as an overseas sourcing team.

    Responsible for overall continuity of supply and active risk mitigation. Work with plants to resolve quality, delivery, capacity, product technical/specification and other issues as required.

    Design, develop and implement a sourcing strategy that will deliver cost competitiveness year-over-year while meeting quality and delivery metrics.

    Conduct supplier contract negotiation, supplier selection and contract lifecycle management.

    Manage vendors through regular reviews of supplier scorecards to achieve QDC goals.


    Develop sources of supply in new regions for cost reductions and risk mitigation owning contract negotiations and product specification qualification.

    Major contributor to the SIOP Process - Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning

    Author and negotiate Master Supply Agreements to obtain the maximum value for each dollar of expenditure.

    Ensure supply chain meets requirements of customer specifications, quality, contracts, orders, and other agreements while mitigating surplus or obsolescence.


    Lead engineering team that manages customer and product specifications, bill of materials and other details in the system item master for new and existing products and ensure alignment thereof.

    Lead engineering team that develops new products using a formal process at the customer's and sales team's requests.

    Ensure all customer application needs, specs, testing requirements, and target costs are met to drive the profitable growth of the business.


    Collaborate with Sales to identify potential new business opportunities that arise within existing markets, evolving markets, as well as technology trends.

    Support business case development to secure approval for investment in growth projects.


    Act as a center of excellence for the respective product categories through complete understanding of industry, competition, future technologies and innovations etc.

    Develop direct reports and department members and hold team members accountable to Company standards. Provide meaningful interaction, coaching, and feedback to team members on a routine basis and during the one-on-one feedback cycle.

    Travel to domestic and international suppliers as business needs require.

    Requirements


    Education:
    BS/BA required in Business, Supply Chain, or related field


    Experience:
    10+ years of supply chain experience in a related industry

    Strong demonstrated track-record in supplier management


    Skills:
    Clear indication of strategic decision-making that drives results

    Demonstrated thought leader on enterprise-level business

    Track record of coaching and developing others

    The ability to travel globally as the needs of the business requires

    Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders across all levels and functions

    Ability to create and implement organizational process change

    Computer - proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and entering and extracting data from ERP systems

    Mathematical reasoning - perform mathematical and measurement conversions

    High attention to detail – accuracy in entering data and in communicating information with others; ability to see errors and identify inconsistencies

    Problem Solving – work independently and with others to resolve issues

    Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication

    Multi-tasking – Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks with deadlines
