    Electronic Technician needed in Brownsville, Texas. As the technician, you would troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and/or modify the Plant's Mechanical, Electrical and Computer driven controls systems. Join a great company

    SCHEDULE:

    The first 45 days, you will be working 1st shift: 6am-4pm.

    Set shift will be 2nd Shift: 3pm-1:30am.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Performs general diagnostics, Repairs and preventative maintenance on automated equipment including robotics, Siemens PLC's, VFD, HMI, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics systems.
    • Proficient with reading, interpreting, and executing equipment specifications using Manuals, basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately assemble and troubleshoot equipment.
    • Install and maintain wiring, control, and power systems in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC).
    • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications.
    • Modify, maintain, and install PLC programs, troubleshoot, and maintain updated documentation and wiring changes.
    • Correctly identify voltage and current nomenclature on equipment. Safely troubleshoot and repair systems using voltages from 12V,24V, 120V, 277V-, and 480V AC/DC circuits.
    • Inspect and understand switchgear, panelboards, transformers, other electrical components.
    • Support Maintenance team including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
    • Designs and constructs adaptations of component parts or standard parts, as required.
    • Fabricates parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
    • Informs supervisor and line mechanics of potentially dangerous electrical equipment observed, or faulty instrumentation and corrective actions taken.
    • Supports equipment installation projects on new and existing production lines.
    • Maintains company required performance and maintenance records for instrumentation and electronic equipment using a CMMS system.
    • Responsible for maintaining the workstation, per 5S guidelines.
    • Perform SMAT audits when required thought out the year.
    • Able to read PPE assessment forms and comply with PPE requirements.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5 years' experience with electronic, electromechanical Hydraulic and pneumatic industrial instrumentation.
    • Ability to integrate Siemens PLC-based code into information gathering systems -Working Knowledge of Ethernet/Device Net/DH+/ControlNet/Remote I/O Systems is desirable.
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedural knowledge.
    • Experience with SAP, PM and TPM is desirable.
