    Description

    University Physicians' Association is looking for a full-time Customer Service Specialist for UNIVERSITY CANCER SPECIALISTS - BLOUNT, a busy oncology practice located in Maryville, Tennessee .

    Customer Service Specialist's duties include, but are not limited to, verify all insurance for new and established patients, obtain all authorizations for chemotherapy medications as well as procedures, properly track all authorizations and the expiration dates, handle all rejections and appeals, schedule all procedures, and obtain all PCP referrals when necessary. Marginal responsibilities include, but are not limited to scheduling office visits, filling in at check in when necessary, and assisting in chart preparation.

    The performance of key responsibilities must meet expectations as defined in the performance standards of this position description. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function. A team member who does not meet attendance standards outlined in the Personnel Policy, Attendance and Tardiness, is not qualified for this position. Ability to report for work in a condition to perform job responsibilities and essential functions in a safe and productive manner. Ability to meet the physical requirements for the position.     Requirements

    Required Education & Training Requires High School education or equivalency; medical billing courses and college preferred.

    Required Experience

    • Medical Customer Service experience required
    • Ability to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communications
    • Candidate must have basic knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Candidate must be able to multitask effectively.
    • Candidate must be able to work well with others.
    • Candidate must be able to adapt to a quickly changing environment.
    • Candidate must have basic math skills such as addition and subtraction.
    • Candidate must have basic knowledge of office equipment such as copiers, fax machine, multi-line telephone, printers, and scanners.
