The Director of Clinical Orientation & Workforce Readiness position is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a dynamic, standardized, and discipline-specific hospice orientation program across multiple states and care settings.This role ensures that all newly hired staff—clinical and non-clinical—enter the organization with clear expectations,
regulatory grounding,
operational readiness,
and a strong customer-service mindset.
Responsibilities
- Design implement and maintain comprehensive hospice orientation curriculum that is Discipline specific Standardized across enterprise while adaptable to state specific requirements Aligned with CMS Conditions Participation accrediting body standards internal policies Ensure orientation content moves beyond overview to clear operational clinical expectations Establish minimum competency thresholds for successful orientation completion by role Develop scalable onboarding models that allow Multiple disciplines onboard simultaneously Structured breakout sessions by role licensure scope practice Hybrid delivery models in person virtual asynchronous when appropriate Coordinate onboarding workflows account differing state regulations Varying care settings home assisted living independent living SNF hospital Partner HR Compliance Clinical Leadership ensure orientation sequencing logical compliant efficient Serve primary facilitator orientation sessions demonstrating confidence clarity presenting large diverse groups Create environment promotes Engagement Psychological safety Professional accountability Adapt teaching strategies learner needs discipline experience level Apply adult learning principles all orientation content including Interactive learning Case based discussion Real world hospice scenarios Ensure education practical relevant directly translatable field practice Evaluate revise content learner feedback audit findings performance trends Educate staff intersection hospice elderly housing including Independent Living IL Assisted Living AL Skilled Nursing Facilities SNF Private Duty services Reinforce appropriate communication collaboration customer service expectations care settings Embed service excellence principles into orientation content emphasizing professionalism empathy partnership Partner Quality Compliance teams ensure orientation content reflects Audit findings Survey trends Common performance gaps Track outcomes recommend improvements based early performance indicators New hire feedback Leadership input Maintain documentation demonstrating compliance regulatory accreditation review
