    Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a full-time faculty member to teach Certified Nursing Aid (CNA) and Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) courses on our Evansville, IN campus.

    This is an in-person role requiring on campus instruction.


    Our instructors for the CNA and QMA certifications provide vital skills that can be used in long-term care environments and others.

    They bring a wealth of knowledge combined with real world experience to our students.


    Major Responsibilities:
    Candidates must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.


    PROGRAM OPERATION:

    • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
    • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
    • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
    • Submits requested information within established timelines.

    STUDENTS:

    • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
    • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

    INSTRUCTION:

    • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
    • In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
    • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

    Hiring Range:
    * $45, ,000 per 9-month academic year


    Work Hours:

    • This is a full-time position. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.
    • This position is expected to start in August 2024.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Possesses an earned associate's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, and
    • Is a licensed Registered Nurse holding an unencumbered license in the state of Indiana, and
    • Has a minimum of two years licensed nursing experience, of which at least one year must be in the provision of long-term care services,

    Additional program requirements prior to start including:

    • Completed the required Indiana state department of health instructor QMA course.
    • Completed application for approval as a program director on file at the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) with all required documentation, and
    • Holds a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education in any Health Sciences and
    • Has completed Indiana Department of Health Train-the-Trainer and
    • Approval by the ISDH Division of Long-Term Care Training Section as a program director.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in nursing
    • Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.
