    Job Description

    As a vital member of our team, the Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless admission processes for our clients. This position requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex insurance policies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Accurately enter demographic, financial, and referral data into our computer systems to facilitate timely billing and scheduling.
    • Answer phone calls and route referrals accordingly, prioritizing urgent needs and collaborating with CTM's, schedulers, and referral sources to coordinate admission dates and times.
    • Prepare client referrals for clinical intake in accordance with company policy, state and federal guidelines, and private insurance contracts.
    • Calculate co-pays and deductible amounts based on insurance reimbursement rates and complete necessary documentation for initial authorization.
    • Participate in communications and resolution of problems related to insurance interpretation, identifying carriers, verifying benefits, and eligibility.
    • Collaborate with CTM/Case Managers to ensure accurate utilization for patient needs and follow up with AE/Liaisons to assure notification of referrals received and documentation needed.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, maintain confidentiality, and promote a customer-friendly atmosphere for all visitors.
    • Participate in accreditation programs and assist referral sources with finding alternative placements for patients due to insurance reasons.

    Requirements:

    • High School Graduate (or equivalent) required.
    • RN or LPN License preferred.
    • Minimum three years of prior experience in a medical field or medical office setting is preferred.
    • Knowledge of billing, insurance reimbursement, medical terminology, diagnosis coding preferred.
    • Experience with troubleshooting computer errors, maintaining records, and organizing is preferred.
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
    • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively and make independent decisions when necessary.
