    OPCE).

    CPV is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Accounting team in Silver Spring, MD. CPV manages a complex, consolidated holding company structure that ultimately holds equity interests in utility-scale power plant projects. The holding and project companies require accounting and financial reporting under both US GAAP and IFRS. These entities are flow-throughs and corporations for tax reporting purposes, and have a complex tax reporting structure.


    This individual will be assigned to prepare and review a variety of direct and indirect tax processes for corporate, holding, and project companies.

    This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Tax with timely and accurate quarterly and annual tax compliance and reporting processes, including interaction with the holding company close and reporting process.

    This position will provide support to operating and development projects for non-income tax matters.

    This position reports to the Director of Tax and will work closely with others in the organization.

    Essential Functions

    Assist with the full income tax compliance process for flow-through project companies, internal corporate and holding companies, and various asset management projects
    Gather, process, and analyze the data that goes into the income tax returns
    Liaise with outside accounting firms used for tax preparation and consulting
    Review draft tax returns and coordinate with project partners for their review and approval
    Prepare and file quarterly estimated tax payments
    Assist with the development of tax forecasting processes for corporate estimated tax payments, partnership non-resident withholding payments, and non-income taxes

    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual non-income tax filings including sales & use tax, gross receipts tax, property tax, franchise tax, excise tax, unclaimed property, etc.

    Prepare the quarterly income tax provision for CPV and affiliates and reconcile provision balances to actual payments
    Support SOX documentation and control efforts
    Maintain tax tracking schedules for income and non-income tax deliverables to ensure tax deadlines are met timely
    Research various income and non-income tax related topics as necessary
    Review and analyze tax notices for CPV projects and asset management projects, and assist in preparing responses in a timely manner

    Secondary Functions

    Participate in and represent the tax department on various routine project management calls and meetings
    Utilize, update, and maintain tax information using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and automated workflow tools
    Respond to and work with project partners on tax data requests
    Assist with tax audits, both income and non-income, at the federal and/or state level as required by your supervisor

    Required Skills

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related concentration
    CPA a plus
    Minimum of 4 years of tax compliance experience, including both corporate and flow-through entities, with real estate or energy business experience preferred
    Strong written and verbal communications skills
    Good working knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and supporting Treasury Regulations
    Basic knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
    Detail-oriented, organized
    Ability to handle a high volume of data, and manage several tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially excel
    Excellent project organizational and effective teamwork skills
    Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on superior customer service
    Strong problem solving/analytical skills
    Must pass a pre-employment criminal background and financial credit check
