Job description
We are one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., and we're looking for an experienced Reefer Technician to join our growing team.
The Technician is responsible for the timely repair, maintenance, and diagnostics of Carrier and Thermo King diesel- and electric-powered refrigerated trailer units and auxiliary power units (APUs).
The Technician must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and servicing refrigeration and A/C systems on Reefer and APU units.
608 or Universal EPA Certification is REQUIRED*Compensation $ $40.00/hr; DOE - Paid weekly, every FridayShift Tuesday - Saturday 2pm - 1030pm

What the Refrigeration Mechanic/Technician role looks like
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to Reefer vehicles
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Remove or install various parts on vehicles
Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
Perform other duties as required
What our ideal candidate looks like
Experience with Reefer units (Thermo King and/or Carrier)
3 years with 608 Certifications required
Experience with PMs and A/C'
Required PM's on Trailers
Must have a valid Driver's License- Class C
Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
Proficient computer skills knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions
Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease,s or other irritants
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Ability to move and position heavy objects.
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
