Job Description
Job DescriptionLooking for candidates for our Fitness Center in Amherst and Buffalo locations. The Fitness Floor Professional is essential in providing members and guests with an enjoyable and welcoming experience as they enter the Jewish Community Center's Health, Fitness and Recreation facility. This individual is responsible for providing supervision of the facilities, equipment orientation (MAC) services to individuals, insures safety and well-being and is essential in assisting the department in achieving member and guests' satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ø Greet members
Ø Provide assistance to members whenever needed. When on the floor please observe. If you notice a member having difficulty with using the equipment, offer help before it is asked of you. Be proactive.
Ø If not assisting a member, please straighten up the areas and clean equipment.
Ø If you see a participant performing an exercise incorrectly, offer assistance.
Ø Greet member's by name
Ø Assist in signing members up for the MAC (Member Assistance Coaching) sessions.
Ø Provide first aid and respond to emergencies when needed.
Ø It is your responsibility to maintain current CPR/AED certification. Proof of CPR/AED will be required yearly. Please provide a copy of the certification.
Ø At times there may be mandatory staff meetings. Attendance at these meetings is required. If you have a conflict, you must schedule a make-up meeting.
Ø At times schedules may change. Please assist us by supporting the implementation of schedule changes made by the JCC. A positive attitude is important and will ensure a smooth transition.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
Ø Education/Experience: Basic knowledge of exercises, equipment and application.
Ø Current CPR and AED
