    General Description:


    The University of Tennessee Naifeh Center for Effective Leadership has an opening for an IPS Training Coordinator in their Nashville office.

    The Naifeh Center for Effective Leadership is an agency of the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service that provides training and leadership development programs for public sector leaders.

    These programs currently include the Tennessee Government Management Institute, the Tennessee Government Executive Institute, the Tennessee Government Professionals Institute, Local Government Leadership Program, Certified Public Manager, Administrative Professionals Academy, and other workshops.


    Duties and Responsibilities:


    The purpose of this Nashville-based position is to plan, coordinate, promote, administer, facilitate, and evaluate a full range of activities related to Leadership Training and Leadership Development.

    It is essential that the person in this position have the ability to provide outstanding customer service to elected and appointed city and county officials statewide and their staff, community members and leaders in State government.


    Required Qualifications:

    Education:
    A High school diploma or GED is required.

    A bachelor's degree in public administration, political science, social sciences, human resource development, adult education, logistics and planning, hospitality or a related field is preferred.


    Experience:


    Job requirements include a minimum of 2 years of work experience with an appropriate combination of planning and delivering programs.

    Prior training and/or coordination experience working with government employees is highly preferred, ideally within state and local governments.

    Skills:
    Effective writing, speaking, decision-making and organizational skills are a must for this position. The ability to relate and provide superb customer service to a broad range of clients is necessary.

    Moderate Knowledge and experience in the usage of MS Windows applications, including Microsoft Office products, email, and Internet-based applications etc.

    are required.

    Prior experience working with a learning management system for purposes of registering customers for training, pulling transcripts and providing rosters and grades for adult learners is preferred.

    Additionally, experience with social media and blast email systems is preferred.


    Behaviors:
    The successful candidate for this position must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    The successful candidate must be able to travel to various sites across the state to assist with training and programmatic events.

    Establishing and maintaining positive, long-term working relationships with local and state government officials is a critical aspect of this position.

    This position requires a highly self-motivated

    individual who is able to work with and without direct supervision.
    Public speaking skills are necessary.
