Overview

CIS Secure will be leading a multi-year program in partnership with an industry Integrator to deliver a next-generation secure communication system for aircraft operations. Based in Ashburn, VA, this initiative will produce a ruggedized, military-grade VOIP solution that enables secure voice and data communication across multiple classified domains. The program spans the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis and preliminary design through prototyping, integration, and verification testing, executed under AS6500, AS9100, and CMMI standards. The Senior Architect will serve as a technical lead on the architecture design and implementation of this product. This effort offers an opportunity to help shape a program from the ground up and build a technical framework that will define long-term success.

Responsibilities

The Senior Architect will be responsible for the duties and responsibilities outlined below, as well as additional tasks as assigned:

• Serve as technical lead on DoD 5000 development project with primary accountability for the architecture design and implementation of the product.
• Transform high level requirements into a compliant and functional architecture that can be designed and produced in the time specified.
• Act as the primary technical interface with the customer.
• Oversee the technical development of the project.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

• This position anticipates on-site work with regular hours, Monday-Friday. Occasional telework may be considered and will be discussed as a part of the interview process.

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

• Primary work location will be the CIS Secure headquarters located in Ashburn, VA. Minimal local travel is anticipated for this position.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE:

• All candidates must be a US Citizen or permanent resident at the the time of application.
• All candidates must be clearable, an active and current DoD Secret clearance is highly preferred.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and related work experience.
• Masters in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, highly preferred.

CERTIFICATION(S):

• None required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 15+ years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry designing military hardened IT systems.

  • MIL-HDBK-817, Design, Testing, and Application of Explosive Devices

  • MIL-STD-1766C, Nuclear Weapon Design Safety Criteria

  • MIL-STD-882E, System Safety

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 20+ years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry designing military hardened IT systems.
• Hands-on electrical engineering experience.

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for the advertised job, promotion, or transfer opportunity. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. The actual salary offered may vary based on various factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, education, geographic location, as well as internal equity, and alignment to market data.

Job Type: Full-time (Onsite)

Pay Range: $180, $220,000.00 per year
