    Description

    Do you have a flexible schedule for the summer and want to utilize your customer service skills in a fun, professional, and teamwork environment? If so, consider applying for the Swimming Pool Cashier at the Parks and Recreation Department

    The Swimming Pool Cashier is a seasonal position with no benefits and a preferred hiring rate of $15.80 per hour. These seasonal positions are expected to last from approximately May 2024 through August 2024. Applicants who are not available to work through the entire period are still encouraged to apply for consideration.

    As a Swimming Pool Cashier, you'll:
    • Conduct the daily operation of the Westover Pool's office;
    • Supervise the safe use of the bathhouse building;
    • Ensure the general safety, health, discipline, and enjoyment of the patrons;
    • Work with a computer-based point-of-sale program;
    • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
    The ideal candidates for this role will be able to handle mathematical computations accurately, provide effective and efficient customer service, and perform administrative support work for the daily operation of the Westover Pool office.

    Physical Requirements: This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping and feeling; vocal communication is required for conveying information to patrons: accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, vibration, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Completion of the tenth grade and at least 16 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Experience as a cashier or with a POS system, some experience providing customer service, and multilingual abilities are preferred but not required.
    • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed, is preferred. This position will require an average of 15-35 hours per week, based on candidate availability.
    The selected candidate for this position will be subject to a criminal background check and must receive satisfactory results.
