    The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating project activities between multiple disciplines and ensuring seamless interaction between NextDecade and the EPC contractor for Next Decades projects, including the Rio Grande LNG project, which is currently under construction.

    The role also acts as interface both internally and externally with all relevant stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, pipeline operator and other ND functions, such as Regulatory & Permitting.

    The project engineering team oversees the implementation of the RGLNG project, ensuring adherence to contractual commitments, timely execution, and alignment with the agreed-upon project specifications.

    RESPONSIBILITIESManages technical interfaces as well as the interface with operations & maintenance.
    Supports engineering quality assurance processes.

    Coordinate between the various NextDecade disciplines to integrate feedback and comments on design activities and documents prepared by EPC contractor.

    Coordinates review and approval of technical queries and deviation requests for engineering scopes (such as structural steel, process equipment items including pumps, compressors, critical service control valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and process heaters)Interfaces with the regulatory / permitting team and coordinate the technical support for the FERC regulatory process.

    Interfaces with the cost estimating, document management and project controls disciplines in the team.
    Provides HSSE best practices in project design, engineering and construction including Human Factors Engineering and Inherently Safe Design.

    Participates in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SIL studies, Independent Project Reviews, Cold Eyes Reviews, Constructability Assessments, 3D Model Reviews and Value Improvement Workshops,Jointly develops key project philosophy documents covering standardization, plant.

    modularization, equipment sparing, mechanical handling and plant layout with other disciplines.
    Participates in the development of the key EPC documents including contract work scope documents and required procedures.

    REQUIREMENTSMinimum experience required for the position5+ years experience in Project Engineering on major oil & gas projects2+ years experience during execution phase of LNG liquefaction or other major oil and gas, or refining projects.

    Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the positionKnowledge of project management principles and overall knowledge of EPC project phases.

    Knowledge of engineering methods, systems, and requirements including industry codes and standards relevant to the oil & gas industry in general.

    Required educationBachelors degree in an appropriate engineering disciplineADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
