    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing support in the areas of compensation, benefits and general HR administrative duties for the stores, corporate and distribution groups. This position is also the primary HRMS system administrator.

    HR Functions:

    • Advise facility leadership in sensitive employment matters related to workplace misconduct and performance management.
    • Leads and conducts investigations while working in partnership with Corporate and various departments to bring employee concerns to conclusion.
    • Serve as a resource in the creation of documents related to performance reviews, corrective actions, individual performance improvement plans, terminations, and other related documents, including drafting such documents for facility leadership as needed.
    • Perform employment-related investigations, partnering with company resources to protect the interests of all stakeholders.
    • Process documentation in unemployment, workers' compensation, disability claims and other leaves of absence.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documents, files and records in both electronic format and hard copy in compliance with established guidelines.
    Benefits/Payroll:
    • Responsible for updating and maintaining of all personnel changes that support the life cycle of employee(s); maintain all documentation.
    • Process payroll for employees accurately and on time/ Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings/ completes year-end payroll processes, including W-2 forms
    • Responsible for the appropriate and accurate reporting of benefit enrollments, associate earnings to include the verification of W2s with attention to special circumstances, i.e. relocations, insurance, incentives, taxes, 401k deductions, etc.
    • Enroll/terminate employees in the benefit web-based systems
    • Enroll terminated employees in COBRA
    • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate transmission of all payrolls, 401(k) contributions, benefits, and tax withholding.
    • Distribution of live paychecks as needed
    • Distribute payroll reports
    • Process manual checks as required
    • Process garnishments and tax levies as directed by court and/or IRS
    • Manage annual open enrollment
    • Participate in strategy meetings and offer input to the COO and company owners.
    Compliance:
    • Ensures legal compliance through timely and accurate completion and data entry of all I-9 forms; maintains I-9 records in accordance with ICE regulations.
    • Establishes and maintains all state requirements as it pertains to payroll, and individual state/local employment taxes, unemployment, and workers compensation. Collaborates with the Phoenix office to ensure appropriate and legal requirements are met.
    • Actively maintain Affirmative Action Plan throughout the year to ensure goals are being met.
    • Update and monitor federal and state labor law posting requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
    • Interfaces with internal and external individuals, departments, divisions, and agencies to answer questions, resolve issues, obtain, and share information related to HR procedures.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Able to stand for extended periods of time (occasionally)
    • Able to sit for long periods of time (constantly)
    • Able to operate a computer (constantly)
    • Able to communicate clearly both verbally & written (constantly)
    Education and Experience:
    • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field a plus.
    • PHR/SPHR certification or equivalent a plus.
    • Must be proficient in Human Resources laws and ethics.
    • Must be able to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality.
    • Demonstrated compensation/benefits/Affirmative Action knowledge.
    • Knowledge of rules & regulations as it pertains to HR Compliance and HR disciplines -i.e. DOL, OFCCP, OSHA etc.
    • Hands on experience administering health benefits and payroll.
    • Proven track record of creating and implementing internal controls and process improvements.
    • Change management, and organizational development experience.
    ENVIRONMENT:
    • This a 100% on site position with a Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm schedule.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work within an office environment, sit; and use office equipment such as fax, computer, mouse, keyboard, phone, copier.
