Partner with the bestAs a Senior Hypervisor Engineering Team Lead, you'll focus on developing and implementing Akamai''s next generation of hypervisor infrastructure.

You will implement an infrastructure strategy to ensure our hardware is the fastest, most reliable, and most secure on the market.

This requires creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise on Linux,virtualization, and performance tuning.

As a Senior Hypervisor Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for:

Managing and mentoring a team of talented hypervisor engineersDefining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standardsProviding support, leadership and guidance for project teams deploying new features and servicesWorking with Linux Kernel and virtualization stack to optimize performance, compatibility and stabilityCollaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problemsParticipating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issuesDo what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalentExperience with architecting hardware, software, and infrastructure at scalePossess expert-level experience in a Development or SysAdmin role, working with large scale distributed systemsHave the ability to align with strategic business initiatives and coordinate the work of other engineersDemonstrate excellent communication, mentorship, and interpersonal skillsPossess informed opinions on technology and software design to bring to the tableWork in a way that works for youFlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.

The base salary for this position ranges from $113,430 - $170,043/year; a candidates salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
