    Responsibilities



    Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to develop TT&C and Satellite Mission Management and Scheduling software in support of our mission critical customers and the OS/COMET COTS software product.

    The Software Development Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

    • Research, design, and development of computer software systems, including requirement analysis, design, development, and test of software products.
    • Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
    • Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Utilizes software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
    • Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects and ability to handle routine tasks. Solves problems of moderate scope/complexity.
    • Demonstrates a strong grasp of debugging skills.

    **This role allows for hybrid remote work**

    **10% travel may be required based on customer needs**

    Qualifications



    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's Degree with 6 years of experience or a PhD with 3 years of experience. Equivalent years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
    • Experience with designing and developing software for Satellite Mission Management or TT&C applications utilizing Java/C/C++
    • Software development methodologies and life cycles; specifications, design, implementation, and testing.
    • Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, FishEye/Crucible, BitBucket, etc.)
    • Development of Unit Tests to get code coverage to above 90%
    • Experience with Linux, preferably RHEL 8.x, 9.x, and Ansible tool suite.
    • Familiarity with the Agile Product Development Cycle
    • Familiarity with the CI/CD practices and DevSecOps processes.
    • Active/Current Security Clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience creating and executing Ansible Playbooks.
    • Experience with the Amazon Web Services cloud architecture and tools associated with cloud development and security.
    • Active involvement in the peer-review process, to include providing thorough code reviews and receiving critical feedback.
    • Client-side development using HTML5, JavaScript, Python, and CSS3.
    • Experience with Server-side development through REST
    • Working knowledge of gRPC endpoints and NATS for micro-service communication as well as containerization.

    Target Salary Range

    $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
