    Position Summary

    Amerit Fleet Solutions , one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Material Handling Equipment Experience The Mechanic is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light - heavy duty fleet vehicles, trailers, and various equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation. This position is multi-functional. Most of the work will be on Forklifts, Crown stand up lifts, and Big Joe walk behind lifts. Strong knowledge of the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of these three types of units. The mechanic position also requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to diesel engine diagnostics, brakes, tires, AC, and PM services.

  • Most of the work will be on Forklifts, Crown stand up lifts, and Big Joe walk behind lifts.
  • Strong knowledge of the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of these three types of units.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to a fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks.
  • The fleet also includes CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Perform services and repairs to diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and regular PM services are required.
  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer.
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles.
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance.
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles.
  • Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Key Competencies and Minimum Education

    Key Competencies and Minimum Education

  • Experience servicing and repairing CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment – highly desired.
  • Experience with Peterbilt, Kenworth, Ford, Chevy Linde, Hyster assets preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly.
  • Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
  • Ability to read schematics and familiarity with processes.
  • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
