    Description

    We are seeking an organized, hard-working, scary-smart, self-directed Personal assistant for a writer/ retired internet exec who loves to farm.

    Must be willing to travel and love dogs. Must be able to pass tough background check. Must be assiduously honest and decent.


    Part of this job will be done remotely as the boss has 3 houses in 3 states and goes between them at a moment's notice.


    You will be doing all sorts of work to make life easier for this busy older man including tracking costs on his 40-acre organic Oregon farm (that grows apples, olives & beef cattle and has a full-time farm manager); driving and running errands, caring for 3 dogs when needs be; monitoring ongoing construction projects; helping manage homes in 3 states; booking appointments locally and remotely, gathering information for philanthropic efforts and doing any other business related tasks the boss needs done.


    Note that Personal Assistants are more than Administrative Assistants, as they function in business and in the boss's personal life.

    You might make dinner reservations or coordinate visits with his friends, book airplanes and help figure personal trips, or even stay at one of the houses to watch the dogs for a week while the boss is away.

    You must be discreet, protect the family's privacy and know the distinction between private and public information.

    The successful candidate will be required to sign a non disclosure.

    Four year college degree preferred but life experience counts too Be intense but kind, positive, able to respond well to a little stress and tolerant of a sometimes disorganized ADD and germ phobic guy who is demanding but decent, who meditates, who will respect you and grow you but who is sure to lose his keys at least weekly, and who sometimes drives his wife, his adult kids and himself a little crazy
