    Responsibilities

    NV5 is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer (Roadways) to join our Transportation team in Charlotte, NC . The Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise, assistance and review associated with transportation projects.

    The most frequent and essential work activities include:

  • Responsible to lead roadway design projects including geometrics.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines in the delivery of projects.
  • Prepare plans per NCDOT manuals/guidance.
  • Assign tasks and communicate task expectations to junior engineers and other disciplines.
  • Ensure that project tasks are completed within deadlines and allotted project budgets.
  • Communicate adequately with all team members and senior management.
  • Responsible for QA (Quality Assurance)/QC (Quality Check) process.
  • Prepare progress reports for invoice submittal.
  • Communicate with the client.
  • Assist with mentoring junior transportation staff.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • NC PE (Professional Engineering) License.
  • 10+ Years' experience in transportation (roadway) design.
  • Must have a good understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO Green Book.
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, InRoads and/or Geopak.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment.
