    Job Summary:

    Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C., is currently seeking a per diem MRI Technologist. As an MRI Technologist you will be responsible for maintaining imaging equipment to ensure that patients are protected and in an optimal position for imaging. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal communication skills as well the ability to communicate and engage with physicians, and patients. MRI Technologist will be responsible for gathering patient medical histories, explaining the scanning process, as well as review and document all patient related records. The MRI Technologist is also responsible for assisting Radiologist with special procedures such as arthrograms. Candidates should have both technical and physical strength necessary to operate the scanner.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Associate Degree or equivalent 2- year college or technical school.
    • ARRT (R) required.
    • ARRT (R)(MRI) preferred.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform MRI procedures as ordered with a high level of quality, care and timeliness.
    • Escort patients to dressing rooms and procedure room.
    • Explain MRI procedures and answer any questions or concerns.
    • Maintain and follow all MRI safety guidelines.
    • Complete related paperwork.
    • Administer I.V. contrast.
    • Conduct Quality Control when needed, monitor machine and equipment reporting any malfunctions to site supervisor/manager.
    • Assist Radiologist with Arthrogram procedure.
    • Assist in keeping the scan room clean and stocked.

    Other:

    • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
    • Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
    • Attends regular staff meetings and continuing education sessions as requested.

    Typical Physical Demands:

    Work may require sitting for long periods of time, and also stooping, bending and stretching for supplies. Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a computer and MRI equipment, and other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. Position also requires viewing computer screens and typing for long periods of time.
