Solar and Battery Storage Project and Technical Development Leader

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technical business development leader to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of renewable energy; specifically solar and battery storage, as well as a proven track record of success in development, permitting, and execution of renewable new projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for solar and battery storage solutions development projects.
• Support new business deals and manage the sales cycle from lead generation to close.
• Has a solid understanding of permitting requirements required for renewable energy development.
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities in the solar and battery storage market.
• Establish, lead, and manage projects / project team to complete all development deliverables to reach financing & project execution phase.
• Manage and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at potential customer organizations.
• Work to develop relationships with key Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partners.
• Design and deliver compelling presentations and proposals, both for potential customers and internal stakeholder audiences.
• Stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies in the solar and battery storage industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or business administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in development, preferably 5+ solar and battery storage.
• Proven track record of success in developing and executing new business opportunities.
• Deep understanding of solar and battery storage technologies, applications, and economics.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skill Requirements:

• Proficient in photovoltaic (PV) system design and analysis.
• Familiarity with battery storage technologies, including lithium-ion, lead-acid, and flow batteries.
• Understanding of energy storage applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
• Knowledge of microgrids and distributed energy resources (DERs).
• Experience with energy project modeling and simulation software.
• Large project management experience
