    Description

    Job Title: Lifeguard

    Company: Tiernan Field House

    The Lifeguard position in Tiernan Field House is all about ensuring the safety of patrons in and around the pool area. Here's what you'll be doing:

    • Comply, enforce, and educate patrons about pool policies and procedures
    • Maintain constant supervision of patrons and act promptly in emergencies

    Safety & Emergency Preparedness

    • Follow rules and regulations diligently
    • Participate in regular trainings and execute emergency procedures efficiently
    • Prepare and maintain activity and incident reports
    • Inspect and report unsafe conditions in the pool area
    • Complete opening and closing procedures responsibly
    • Wear provided uniform, maintain professionalism, and offer excellent customer service
    • Perform maintenance duties for a clean and safe facility
    • Support the College's Principles of Community and Diversity
    • Complete any other assigned duties

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to follow instructions and maintain professionalism

    Qualifications:

    • 1+ years of lifeguarding experience preferred
    • American Red Cross certifications required

    Work Environment:

    This position offers temporary, non-benefits-eligible, part-time, non-exempt work. You should be flexible to cover various shifts, weekends, and after-hours as needed.

    Rate: $16.25/hour

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

    • Swim various distances and scenarios
    • Exercise physical strength and stamina
    • Respond effectively to auditory and visual cues

    At-Will Employment:

    Employment conditions at Tiernan Field House are subject to change and are at-will, giving both the employee and the College the freedom to end the employment relationship at any time, for any reason.
