    Position Information:
    The Pediatric Diabetes Nurse Educator is responsible for but not limited to participating in the development implementation and evaluation of the Pediatric Diabetes Program. Provides education to pediatric patients and their families in both WakeMed inpatient and outpatient classroom settings. Will also provide supplemental education for healthcare and school personnel. The Pediatric Endocrinology Nurse Educator will collaborate with physicians other program and hospital staff and school nurses to establish diabetes management plans and ensure continuity of care. Utilizes a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to anticipate integrate and coordinate the patients plan of care and maximize the ability to remain in a community setting. The goal of the Pediatric Diabetes Nurse Patient Educator is to meet the needs of patients in order to optimize clinical and resource outcomes and to monitor the effectiveness of the plan and its outcome.

    Experience Requirements:
    1 Year Nursing - Related Area Required

    Education Required:
    Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:
    Registered Nurse Required - And Certified Diabetes Educator Required - Within 1 Year of Hire
